Broward County

With Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties, Broward County is one of three counties that comprise the South Florida metropolitan area. From county seat Fort Lauderdale to the suburban enclaves of Deerfield Beach and Coral Springs to some of the region's loveliest beaches, Broward County is perhaps Florida's most all-American community. Along Florida's southeastern coast just north of bustling Miami-Dade and south of Palm Beach, Broward County offers a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the best of American diversity. At the northern tip is Deerfield Beach, known for its great pier fishing, while at the southern end, the retired community and Miami commuters call Pembroke Pines home. Like most of coastal Florida, Broward has miles of palm-lined beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. The county also boasts an international airport, coral reefs close to shore, and several universities. For the sports-minded, Broward County offers many beautiful golf greens. For those looking for ice in the Sunshine State, the NHL Florida Panthers play their home games in Sunrise. The many communities of Broward County offer a growing selection of great shopping and dining opportunities, from the 2.1 million square-foot Sawgrass Mills supermall to the Festival Flea Market Mall, America's largest indoor flea market in Pompano Beach, and from fine dining by the ocean to fresh seafood with a laid-back island vibe. In any neighborhood in Broward County, you’re within minutes of a mall, making shopping easy and enjoyable. Fine restaurants will spoil you with top-rated European and American cuisine, and beachside eateries abound throughout Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale.
